John Denney

"You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew."

- Albert Einstein

I am John Denney, M.A.

I first learned of the Heartmath technique of stress reduction from my Naturopathic doctor, Kevin Davison. Kevin said to me,"You don't handle stress very well." He was right! After Kevin put me thru my first Heartmath session, it changed my life forever. And then when I learned that having a Masters degree in Psychology allowed me to attend a Biofeedback conference, I was instantly excited and ready to dedicate my craft to this discipline.

I attended my first Biofeedback conference in 2002 where I was blown away by all of the techniques. I learned about every machine you could hook yourself up to with a personal computer, including devices for monitoring brain-waves, heart-waves, temperature skin conductance and many more.

I grew up on the East Coast, lived in California after graduating from Syracuse, got my Masters Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University, met my wife and then moved to Boulder Colorado for 5 years, and then on to Maui in the early 90's. I was a part of the group that pioneered many water sports including Tow Surfing, Kite Surfing and Foil Boarding.

When I lived on Maui, I was lucky enough to work on surf films and videos such as Riding Giants, Step into Liquid, James Bond and many more, providing water or land support for the cameramen and athletes. I got my own 15 minutes of surfing fame in the 2001 documentary “Ride The Wild Surf” . This is where I learned the ropes of riding big waves and surfed Jaws (Peahi,) the Mount Everest of surfing.

Having watched the sports of snowboarding and kiteboarding explode, I thought Paddlboarding was next. My family and I moved to Jupiter Florida during the winter of 2007 bringing stand up paddling to the east coast. .

Today, I  teach  Playing from the Heart  Mastering the Inner Game Workshops to teams and Individuals,  conduct One on One inner game coaching sessions through skype or at my office,  teach PaddleFit Certification courses and  teach at Kalama Kamps
